Northern Hub – Structure Dse146 Span 19 T-Mat 80 Joint & Bearing Installation
EKSPAN was contracted by Skanska BAM Nuttall JV to install 2 no. T-Mat 80 expansion joints with concurrent installation of mechanical and elastomeric bearings on the DSE146 Span 19 structure.
M27 River Hamble Bridge – Strengthening & Bridge Upgrading 2008
EKSPAN were successful in securing the design and manufacture of 60 new stainless steel mechanical bearings. EKSPAN were also responsible for the temporary works design and bridge jacking. The works was successfully completed in September 2008.
Hydro-Electric Power Station – Low Head High Pressure Pipeline – Pipe Section Replacement
EKSPAN were instructed to remove and replace the damaged carbon wrap pipe with a new pipe section, including installation of an additional moving joint.
Pre-works operations involved establishment and setup of the site compound for delivery and positioning of site cabins, offloading of equipment and materials and preparation of plant and hydraulic equipment to enable jacking of the pipeline.
The Falkirk Wheel
EKSPAN’s involvement in the Falkirk Wheel was the design, manufacture and installation of the aqueduct expansion joints.
Astana Stadium
EKSPAN’s Solution
The roof construction of the stadium created a number of technical issues with respect to managing dynamic loads. Additional rotations and movements had to be considered at the main support positions to accommodate the nature of the mobile roof structure.
Adu Dhabi Airport – Midfield Terminal Bearing Supply & Inspection Of Installation
EKSPAN were instructed by Eversendai Engineering to design, manufacture and supply 522 no mechanical and elastomeric bearings for installation on 58 bridges, on two levels.
A40 Westway – London : Finger Joint Manufacture and Installation
EKSPAN manufactured 208 no finger joints, which replicated the existing finger joints, on a like for like basis to suit interchangeability during installation. Badly eroded joints requiring immediate attention were temporarily repaired using welding plates.
