Our experts provided design, manufacture and installation services for the 342m single leaf, rolling bascule bridge, the first of its kind in the UK.

We also gave the site team end-to-end support with the temporary works that were needed to keep the structure safe throughout its construction. The EKSPAN team designed the temporary works’ jacking arrangements as well as the fixed, transverse and longitudinal restraints.
Our team undertook thorough checks before supplying these temporary works measures, to ensure their compliance with Temporary AIP, CAT 3 checks, and Network Rail Form 002/003.
We were also tasked with procuring and manufacturing the temporary works measures and permanent bearings being installed on the project.
As part of the support to Farrans, we installed the jacking arrangements and temporary restraints they required so the structure remained safe during its construction. Our expert installation team assisted with the landing of the structure alongside the installation of the new permanent pot bearings, including permanent grout beds.
