National Apprenticeship Week 2026: Shining a spotlight on EKSPAN’s Accounts Apprentice, Millie Denton
With National Apprenticeship Week approaching for 2026, organisations across the country are celebrating the value apprentices bring to their teams, industries and the wider economy.
At EKSPAN, we are celebrating National Apprenticeship Week with our latest starter, Millie Denton.
Millie entered an apprenticeship after leaving school, because she wanted a route that felt more practical and engaging than classroom-based education.
She was drawn to the idea of developing her skills through hands on experiences, and gaining confidence by applying what she learnt directly into a workplace environment.
For Millie, the combination of structured learning, real-life examples and a genuinely supportive setting made the transition from school to working life both smooth and rewarding.
When exploring where to start her career, EKSPAN stood out immediately. Millie had heard consistently positive feedback about the company, particularly on its welcoming culture and flexible approach.
She was looking for an employer that would help her career grow, provide encouragement and offer a place where she truly felt she belonged. EKSPAN matched all those expectations, and gave her a strong sense that it was the right environment to begin progressing her future.
Since starting her role as an Accounts Apprentice, Millie has discovered a genuine enjoyment for the work. She has loved the processes behind the job, appreciated how streamlined everything is and enjoyed working alongside the latest technology. What began as a new challenge has quickly become something she finds fun and engaging.
A key part of Millie’s development has been the guidance of her mentor, Caitlin, whom she describes as an amazing support. With such strong mentorship, Millie feels motivated to continue pushing herself and is already thinking about her long-term future. She hopes to progress within the department and eventually step into a leadership position.
Millie’s story reflects exactly what National Apprenticeship Week is designed to celebrate. It highlights opportunity, growth and the power of supportive workplaces like EKSPAN to help shape the next generation of skilled professionals. Her journey is only just beginning, but it is already clear that she is on an exciting path, backed by commitment, enthusiasm and a team that believes in her potential.
